Dr.Kaynat Kazi

Dr. Kaynat Kazi is a passionate traveler, author, photographer, and storyteller who brings cultures to life through her words and lens. In 2012, she founded Rahagiri, India’s first Hindi travel photography blog, inspiring thousands to explore the world in their own language.

Over the years, Kaynat has journeyed across 300,000 kilometers, documenting diverse landscapes, traditions, and heritage. Her debut solo exhibition, “Colors of India,” showcased the vibrant soul of the country—its festivals, handicrafts, and cultural treasures.

A prolific writer, she has authored 13 books, countless articles, and academic contributions during her decade-long career as a researcher at renowned institutions like Shiv Nadar University and the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies.

Celebrating India’s cultural legacy through UNESCO World Heritage Sites, traditions, and preservation efforts for over a decade, Kaynat continues her mission as a Distinguished Fellow at the Viksit Bharat Fellowship 2025, working on a coffee table book and documenting India’s cultural heritage. She has also been a three-time Fellow at IGNCA and currently leads the Bougainvillea Art Foundation, promoting art and heritage through creative initiatives.

Dr. Kazi is a member of several esteemed organizations, including:
• Delhi Journalists Association
• India International Photography Council
• Delhi Photography Club

She has also served as a photography expert for the Reserve Bank of India’s Local Art Committee (Northern Area) and contributes to HolidayIQ and ADTOI as a professional reviewer. An accomplished journalist with a Ph.D. in Hindi from Dr. B.R.Ambedkar University, Dr. Kazi began her career with The Sunday Indian after earning a degree in Mass Communication from the prestigious Jagran Institute. She has authored 13 books, numerous research papers, short stories, and popular articles, and has been invited as a speaker at several academic and cultural forums.

Played a key role in the Aglad Valley cultural mapping pilot study under IGNCA’s cultural mapping mission in Uttarakhand under the Ministry of Culture.

IGNCA Project Documentaries

Parantapasvini is a series of 12 documentaries based on a research project conducted by Dr. Kaynat Kazi, a Research Fellow at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi.
For this project, Dr. Kazi traveled over 28,000 kilometers across the length and breadth of India, discovering 12 extraordinary women whose lives are a source of inspiration. These women not only transformed their own lives but also worked tirelessly for the upliftment and betterment of their communities.
